Women4IT – NEW and FREE Training Programmes and Hiring solutions for employers

ICS is delighted to announce that the first training session of the Women4IT project has now finished! We celebrated the start to the year with the Graduation Ceremony for the first group of participants who attended the Data Analyst and Graphic Designer courses!

The ceremony took place online on Friday 8th January and a certificate will be issued by Sure Skills, attesting the new digital skills acquired by the graduates.

The Irish Computer Society together with Sure Skills are delighted to provide this opportunity to young women to get into the digital sector! We were impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of this first group of students!

From the feedback we have received, we are also happy to hear that it was a great experience, despite the Covid-19 situation!

One student said: "Thank you so much for giving a golden opportunity to all of us!"

More training courses are going to start from next week. Learn more about it joining our informative webinars!

If you are a woman between 19 and 29 years old, join our informative webinar on Monday 25th January at 12 pm to find out more about the initiative and to see how this project can help you reshape your career or enter the digital/IT sector for the first time.

The aim of this European funded project is to improve diversity in the digital sector and at the same time to provide opportunities for young women in Ireland to gain employment in entry-level IT/Digital roles.

A crucial part of this programme is the training of 100 young women in Ireland for 5 different job profiles.

The first training session has been completed and two groups of qualified and motivated women are eager to find their next job opportunity and to put their new set of digital skills to use.

Qualified in either Data Analytics or in Graphic Design, the graduates are now looking to get back into employment. The mentoring system we had in place since the start of the training will continue and offer support during the job seeking process.

The second training session is ongoing and includes the Digital media Executive and Junior web Developer courses.

The last training session has been launched with different starting dates.

Due to demand, the Data analyst course will be run again starting on 18th January 2021 offering 2 full days of online classes for a duration of 7 weeks.

The Digital Media with elements of Graphic Design will start on the 2nd of February and the Customer Service and Junior Web Developer courses will start on the 15th of February.
