Would you love to share your STEM knowledge and expertise with students?
Would you like to help students with their STEM projects?
Do you believe you could be a great resource for students interested in STEM fields?
If you answered YES to any of these questions, then our future digital creators need you!
Each year, the Irish Computer Society is sponsored by Lero (The Irish Software Research Centre) to run the National Scratch Competition. Through this competition, students are exposed to a better understanding of how software is built and works - which in turn boosts their interest in software development.
Scratch serves as a platform for students to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art. We encourage them to push the limit and participate in the National Competition to share their creative minds with the public.
And this is where you come in, where you use your expertise and resources to help fairly judge their efforts. As a judge, you will be reviewing projects for all age categories - and you get to meet brilliant young minds.
Judging will take place remotely between the weeks of 14th Feb – 6th March and volunteers will be required to judge 15 entries picking the top three. The chosen entries will then go on to the National Final taking place during Tech Week 2020.
So, what are you waiting for? Volunteer as a judge and let's foster students' interest in STEM together!
