Speaker Profile: Karl McDermott, Three Ireland

Karl joined Three in 2010 as Pre-Sales manager and has risen through the company to his current role of Head of ICT, which he has held since October 2014.

Karl is an experienced technology professional, having held previous sales engineering roles at Cisco, Damovo, and BMW. Karl’s role at Three is to develop technology solutions and bring them to Three customers to solve business challenges and problems. He leads a team of technology and business consultants at the company. His busiest areas currently involve helping customers transition to the cloud, mobilising their workforces, and providing end-to-end security solutions for customers.

Karl’s areas of expertise include cloud computing, mobile cyber security, the Internet of Things and the future of mobile technology in all of these areas.

Karl holds a degree in engineering from UCD, as well as a Masters in Engineering from the University of Alberta.
