(1) More about Ordinary Membership
ICS membership is open to anyone working, studying, or with an interest in Information Technology.
Ordinary Members may upgrade to Professional Members by supplying details of their education and experience, providing two referees, and meeting any other relevant criteria.
Acceptable forms of payment for Ordinary Membership are Visa, Mastercard and Laser.
(2) More about Professional Membership
Applications for this Membership grade must be accompanied by details of two referees familiar with the work and/or qualifications of the applicant. Ideally these should be a current or previous employer, or a current member of the Society. You will be sent relevant instructions with your welcome email.
Acceptable forms of payment for Professional Membership are Visa, Mastercard, Laser, cheque, bank draft or direct debit mandate.
(3) More about Chartered Membership
Chartered Membership is similar to Professional Membership with the addition that members may apply for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status without incurring further fees.
Members who achieve CITP status will be recorded on a new register available to potential clients and employers as a resource for finding leading IT practitioners. Read more about becoming a Chartered IT Professional here.
(4) More about ICS Fellowship
Fellowship is reserved for senior IT professionals who have displayed a significant contribution to the IT profession, the field of IT and Computing, or, through the application of IT, to Society or Industry.
ICS Fellows are entitled provide input to the Society at the highest level, and may use the designation Fellow of The Irish Computer Society (FICS). To read more about Fellowship click here.
