IT Trainers Network

The IT Trainers Network provides a forum and representative body for IT trainers who have attained the Certified Training Professional (CTP) certificate and those who wish to develop their skills to the CTP standard.

The aims of the IT Trainers Network are to:

  • improve the skills and knowledge of members particularly with respect to new training technologies and techniques
  • promote the value of the CTP as a means of differentiating expert trainers
  • provide information and opportunities for further professional development
  • provide a forum for sourcing employment opportunities
  • enable trainers to support each other in dealing with everyday issues, from funding of local initiatives to adapting training for candidates with special needs
  • lobby for recognition of CTP by government and other relevant bodies
  • research and investigate how delivery of IT training can be improved for the betterment of society and the training profession.
The appetite for training in general is very much on the increase again and coupled with this is the demand that trainers hold a recognized training qualification.

ICS Skills launched the CTP (Certified Training Professional - Train the Trainer) in 2002, and have maintained the quality and integrity of the Certified Training Professional certificate.  An endorsement of this is the fact that FÁS recognises the qualification as a basis for inclusion on the FÁS/EI National Register of Trainers and successful completion of CTP leads to the FETAC Level 6 award “Training the Trainer”.

Invitation to CTP Trainers to become a CTP Tutor

A very integral part of the success and recognition of CTP is the standard of the CTP trainers that were invited by ICS Skills to become the “chosen few” to deliver CTP courses. 

ICS Skills is currently recruiting for new CTP Tutors. This is an opportunity which does not present itself often.  If you are a holder of CTP and would like further information about this unique opportunity, please email training@ics.ie for further information. 

Trainers with a track record in excellent training who complete the CTP Programme could be eligible for the CTP Tutor Programme and be qualified to deliver CTP workshops in their own centres.
