Description
Professor Joe Peppard's CIO Masterclass series continues
It is well established that managing change associated with IT deployments can be difficult. Yet, it is only through achieving this change that the value of the investment is ultimately released. This second of three Masterclasses on the theme of change will focus on organisational politics and the IT stereotype. Navigating the political landscape of an organisation can be a significant challenge, particularly for IT professionals.
A powerful framework to help map and understand the political landscape will be presented. Allied to the issue of organisational politics is the IT stereotype. The stereotypical image of a CIO and IT professional in general, held by many outside of IT, defines what business colleagues perceives they can and cannot do. Strategies for overcoming the IT stereotype will be presented.
