Description

 As more and more security breaches make headlines, privacy issues concerns us all - personally and professionally. The ICS Privacy Forum provides a platform for professionals to learn about the latest best practices through regular seminars, workshops and online resources.

Las Kelly, Head of IT Security, Bank of Ireland will speak on “Laptop & Mobile Devices Data Security” which will cover:

  • Changing threat environment and impact on mobile workforce
  • Risks to the parent organisation
  • Technical and procedural controls to mitigate risks
  • Awareness
  • Other mobile data risks

David Crawley, Information Security Manager, Ulster Bank Group will speak on “Enterprise Data Security - controlling how data leaves the organisation” which will cover:

  • Background to controlling data in Ulster Bank.
  • Issues around data loss (sanction by the regulator, reputational loss, fraud, legal action)
  • Examples of data loss (RBS hard drive on ebay, Bord Gais, HSE, BAnk of Ireland, Worldpay)
  • Procedures to protect data (awareness campaigns, guidance documentation, quarterly assurance testing, data transfer register, engaging with 3rd parties, Internal Audit)
  • Technologies we have adopted in Ulster Bank to protect data (USB lockdown, USB encryption, Encryption tools).

Registration and refreshments at 5.30pm. The seminar will start promptly at 6pm.
