Continuing professional development is one of the key roles of the Irish Computer Society. A regular series of evening seminars ensures that our members stay up to date with the latest developments in the IT world.
The ICS has also introduced a number of formal training courses through its own initiative or in partnership with other training providers. ICS training courses are designed to offer members the opportunity to expand on their skills sets in areas which may be of benefit to IT professionals. These are not necessarily IT specific qualifications, but rather focus on skills that may be necessary to advance a career in the the industry. Courses on topics such as sales skills and leadership management are currently on offer from the ICS, while more training opportunities are in the pipeline.
In tandem with this, the ICS has also launched Skills Cert, an accreditation framework for IT job skills. Currently available to organisations, the ICS is developing a Skills Cert framework for individuals who want to participate. |
