The Mobile Computing Network is for IT professionals with responsibility for, or an interest in, deploying mobile and wireless solutions. The Network, which is sponsored by Microsoft, held a major conference at IPA headquarters in 2006.

The objectives of the Mobile Computing Network are to:

• educate about the various methods of deploying Mobile Solutions and their respective risks and benefits
• consider the many wireless broadband offerings (WiFi, WiMax, 3G) and applications types (remote office, mobile service or sales force)
• create a forum for organisations that have already experienced mobilisation and those who are just beginning the process
• promote best practice in deploying Mobile Solutions
