ICS Data Protection Survey 2012 - Results

Survey reveals increase in awareness of data protection requirements through firsthand experience of data breaches rather than training and policy/procedures within Irish Companies. Over two thirds of respondents stated that they have a clear understanding of the current legislation surrounding Data Protection in Ireland according to a survey published by the Irish Computer Society (ICS) in advance of its annual Data Protection conference on Thursday, February 9th 2012.

Highest Ever Registrations for ICS F1 in Schools 2012

The Irish Computer Society-run F1 in Schools Technology Challenge has received record registrations this year from second level schools nationwide. To meet demand, the F1 in School’s team, led by Project Manager Gillian Harty, has added an extra day of regional competitions. Early next year 3 regional finals will be held in Dublin (15th March), Cork (22nd March) and the West of Ireland (13th March), before the national Final is held in Dublin on 26th April.
