Career Development

Free or discounted entry to all ICS lectures by well-known and respected professionals, on topical issues of relevance. ICS lectures cover technical, management and personal development subjects.
Whole and half-day seminars are run periodically by the ICS to cover major topics in depth and are free to ICS Members. For these seminars, the ICS attracts renowned international experts and local specialists to present a range of views. These seminars are regarded as the best on offer, timely, topical, unbiased, relevant, informative and value for money. Surveys of attendees consistently elicit ratings of 'very good' to 'excellent' for all aspects of these seminars.

Networking Opportunities

ICS membership gives you numerous occasions to gather information, make introductions and network with your peers. As well as the scheduled lectures and seminars there are occasional member-only social events which are run at least every quarter.
The ICS encourages the formation of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) for targeted networking and sharing of specialist knowledge. The ICS will facilitate the administration of these groups.
On-line networking is possible through the members-only area of the ICS website. Email, discussion boards and a member's directory allow disparate members to communicate effectively on topics of mutual interest.

Information Services

Free subscription to ‘Computer Scope’ magazine. Each monthly issue features an Irish Computer Society section with articles highlighting topics of interest to our members including upcoming events, as well as promoting ICS membership to the general readership.
The ICS Legal e-Bulletins features contributing writers from the Matheson Ormsby Prentice Information Technology Law Group and is distributed to members on a monthly basis. The bulletins consider common problems that can arise with computer related contracts.
The ICS newsletter keeps our members informed about what is going on and includes reports of past events and news of forthcoming ones, articles of technical interest, analysis of legislative changes that may impact our members work, international developments - all presented in an informal, easy to read style. The newsletter is emailed to members on a monthly basis.
